chinese takeaway?

well.. just going through my files then and was browsing through my CHINA PHOTOS!! actually i think these were both taken by chris haha.. but anyway.. the first one is at a maccas behind the Summer Palace. very well placed because you walk in through the front of the Summer Palace.. walk around.. be a tourist..climb a steep hill.. walk down again.. go through the exit.. and WOW. MCDONALDS! it ruins the view from the back of the summer palace.. you can imagine how it was all green hills and stuff before and now its a maccas. but anyway.

they didnt allow me to take photos. i guess theyy noticed me cause i was bigger and blacker than the other people there. hahaah but they didnt notice chris.. so he took a photo of the distinctly chinese maccas foods. the first is black pepper 'steak' hamburger.. didnt try that. the next one is green bean pie. wanted to try but didnt get to. the last one is.. i dunno. the sign says its 'fresh fruit sauce' with ice cream on top.. but direct translations are a little dodgy so yeah i think youd kinda get the idea from the pic =] i think someone tried it at the beijing mcdonalds in xidan? forgot. but anyway its available in pineapple and strawberry. mmm. OMG maccas also has chicken wings! haha.. thats in another photo somehwere.

as for kfc.. this one was kinda near the school we were at in china.. this was kfc for dinner one night.. me and chris were sitting at the same table and he took this photo before we ate. he had the wings and i had the burger.. its actually pretty good but pretty oily. they dont use breast filletfor burgers like they do here. its more like thigh i think. not as dry but more oily. hehe. and the chips! not thick. but french fries. and they like to eat it with tomato sauce. at maccas too. and kfc has SOUP! hahah vegetable soup.. i think they had rice too? forgot. but anyway.. fast food in china is somewhat of a 'luxury' apparently. its like what we call 'going out' here. we go to a nice restaurant for dinner.. and the chinese go to maccas. hahaah.. cause its so expensive compared to other foods you can buy outside. its a sign of *western refinement* and AFFLUENCE.

maccas also had TARO PIE. mmm.

so thats its for todays post. now im hungry. and i miss china =[ well not the diarrhoea. AHAH but the overall experience. if you ever get to travel overseas with friends. DO IT. its so FUN! youll never forget it =]
