australia may not be an openly racist country. in fact, there are many people who are very nice to 'ethnics' and like to learn about our culture and stuff. but then there are those others. heaps of them. they have strong opinions but dont often express them because they are afraid. then something like one nation and pauline hanson comes along and all these people think okay its alright to think like i do now - GET OUT YOU FCKN ETHNICS. or something happens like what happened in cronulla and maroubra and theres shit going on everywhere.

just becasue you say "ethnic community" doesnt mean your racist. and sometimes you need to start with "im not racist but". like "im not racist but i think the rhendosian manufacturing process is substandard as a result of a culture of blatant disregard for any form of law enforcement" while that does make a generalisation, it could also be true.

I hope when you say 'Australians' you don't just mean 'white people'. People are racist. You can't expect them not to be. The mind is separate from our feelings and instincts... you can only let the mind keep those instincts in check.
